Safety and stability in mining

Unexpected salt deposits required a new tunnel floor to be constructed to ensure ventilation and escape routes. The salt is washed away in accordance with hygiene guidelines and transported along the tunnel. Employee safety is the top priority.

Geologically, there were loose rocks and sandy soil, which were stabilised using WILLKAT^® FOAM. The cavity was completely solidified and filled; behind the formwork, Gianinetti SA injected WILLKAT^® FOAM to stabilise the area behind the cladding. Perforated/closed lances and HDPE pipes were used.
