Team Lead Group Accounting & Finance (m/w/d)

For our holding company at our location in Dortmund, we are looking for a committed leader in the field of Accounting, Finance & Controlling who brings experience in the design and implementation of projects within this area in cooperation with domestic and foreign subsidiaries. This ensures that the local units and the holding company can efficiently meet their reporting obligations while creating transparency in the achievement of the company's goals.

The position covers our two internationally active corporate groups with different industrial focuses. The JMBG Group unites several mid-sized companies in the field of polyurethane chemistry, with various specializations and international business relationships, under one common roof. With a strong focus on innovation, sustainable growth, and efficient processes, we actively continue to shape the future of our corporate group. The area of responsibility also includes the internationally active Pulp-Tec Group, a leading provider of sustainable packaging and molded fiber solutions.

What we expect

  • Professional leadership and further development of the Accounting and Finance team, currently consisting of four people
  • Support of our foreign subsidiaries, including coordination with auditors
  • Review and assessment of potential investments
  • Contribution to the continuous optimization and digitalization of finance processes
  • Setting up and monitoring reconciliation/interface processes in existing and new holdings to ensure correct group accounting
  • Setting up and monitoring domestic and foreign banking relationships for new holdings so they can be integrated into existing systems
  • Responsibility for cross-departmental matters in payment transactions and receivables management (cash flow management)
  • Preparation of forecasts at group level, including reporting to internal and external stakeholders
  • Rating management for financial service providers
  • Risk monitoring and management of business risks, e.g. currency, country risk, payments
  • Planning, execution, and monitoring of:
    • The annual planning process
    • Liquidity planning
    • P&L preparation (monthly, quarterly, annual)
    • Group consolidation (monthly, quarterly, annual)
    • Annual group financial statements

Your skills

  • Successfully completed commercial training with further qualification in the field of Finance/Accounting (e.g. certified accountant / “Bilanzbuchhalter:in”), or a completed degree with a focus on Finance, Accounting, Controlling, or a comparable field
  • Several years of professional experience in Accounting & Finance, ideally with initial leadership experience in a group environment
  • Sound knowledge of German GAAP (HGB) as well as a good understanding of accounting and finance processes
  • Experience in handling intercompany matters and international corporate structures
  • Basic knowledge of tax law, particularly value-added tax (VAT) in a national and international context
  • Experience in forecasting, reporting, and liquidity planning
  • An analytical and solution-oriented working style
  • A strong sense of responsibility as well as cross-departmental thinking
  • Strong communication skills and a confident presence with internal and external contacts
  • An affinity for digitalization, automation, and AI-supported processes
  • Pragmatism and a hands-on mentality
  • Very good written and spoken German and English
