Roller shutter boxes

Uninsulated roller shutter boxes are entry gates for cold or warm air.

Without adequate insulation, high heat loss can occur in colder temperatures. Especially in older homes, shutter boxes are often not insulated. In an average single-family house, roller shutter boxes quickly add up to more than ten square meters of surface area, through which warm air from the interior can escape almost unhindered through the window. Even thin insulation panels reduce energy loss by up to 60 percent. Since uninsulated shutter boxes also represent thermal bridges and thus lead to mold and cracking, shutter box insulation is all the more worthwhile.
